For the new incarnation of Austin’s beloved children’s museum, Asterisk Group created a program of building signage and donor recognition to complement the workshop aesthetic of the new facility and its exhibits.

The new museum, designed by Koning Eizenberg with exhibits by Gyroscope, is adjacent to Mueller Lake Park and a bright red beacon of fun in the new neighborhood town center.

Asterisk Group designed and managed the fabrication of the exterior and interior wayfinding and donor recognition for the 40,000 SF building. The museum’s new name reflects its focus on providing a hands-on, science and play focused venue for a new generation of innovators and creative problem solvers.

Environmental Graphic Design is a multidisciplinary field that combines many design areas including architectural, interior, graphic, and industrial design. Together these disciplines enhance the user experience by representing visual concepts in the built environment. EGD can take the form of wayfinding and signage systems, installations, super graphics, and visualization of brand identity and communication on a physical space.
