Ramses Life is a culinary and event concept designed by Philippe Stark that promotes gastronomic experiences in Madrid. The new japanese restaurant Natsuki is part of this initiative.

Erretres, a local design consulting firm, was commissioned to create the restaurant’s concept: a mixture of traditional and modern Japan.

After a trip to Tokyo, the design team realized that there were three important factors to take into consideration for this project: value, art, and experience. These three elements combined together made up Natsuki and 21st century Japan: modern geishas, technology, kawaii, and lots of neon lights. A grid system inspired by the phases of the moon and neon lights became the main element for their branding system, that includes colorful and cute characters.

After a deep exploration of japanese culture, its graphics and tradition, Erretres came up with an incredible design project where passion and attention to detail can be easily admired.

Take a tour through the whole project and check out their amazing design adventure.

@joannebyrne.hello designed this signage system for Dublin’s Docklands. The signage highlights six sites of interest along the Dublin Docklands section of the River Liffey. Illustrations accompany the description of each place of interest, most of which can be seen from the location of the panel. The title is fret cut from powder-coated metal and the design is screen printed.
