Great interior design doesn’t have to be expensive and it shouldn’t be difficult to implement. Even if the space is big or small, the right materials, graphics and colors can be mixed together to create a special atmosphere and transform a place.
Creativity plays a big roll when blending all the elements and, as always, the details make the difference between normal and extraordinary.
This is the case with Faszaládé, a small sausage bar created by a group of designers from Hungary and Spain. Clever details like their mosaic walls and neon typography transform this small space into something memorable.
Akos Polgardi, Ádám Bajor and Peter Szendrő, were commissioned to design the interior and visual identity of Faszaládé a new-wave craft sausage bar in downtown Budapest. Faszaládé’s mission is to re-invent the traditional Hungarian roast sausage by preparing it in novel ways as well as fusing it with unexpected ingredients such as sardines and pistachio. Accordingly, the bar was expected to look and feel contemporary while retaining the atmosphere of old-style butcher shops. The mosaic numbers and their captions featured on the walls invoke the Hungarian version of the nursery rhyme “This Little Piggy”
